I started the course in September, learning soft skills at the once a week sessions and started to learn new programming languages as part of the package at home. This helped me learn what types of questions I should expect at an interview whilst still continuing developing my programming skills.

After gaining interview skills such as confidence and knowing my own strengths and weaknesses, I was chosen among others to go to an interview at Fabric Technologies. The night before my interview I received emails and calls to motivate me for the following day.

I was pleased to find out the following week that I was chosen for a four week placement. Just IT staff were very supportive and ensured me that I could call anytime if needed. They made sure to call on my first day and were there to speak to half way through when I needed advice. I have now just been offered a position at the company and very happily accepted… Thanks Just IT!

Leo Siddle - Junior Share point and C# Developer role @ Fabric Technologies £20k – Oct 2010

Just IT is run by several incredibly helpful and supportive people, who were happy to take me on, despite the fact my degree wasn’t IT based (I studied Music Technology and Innovation).

The weekly sessions were a huge help for improving my CV and were great preparation for interviews. They focused on emphasising my personal strengths (enthusiasm and communication skills) and offered lots of information on what sort of questions to expect in an interview, and how best to approach answering them. Just IT supplied me with plenty of training material as I needed it, allowing me to work at my own pace.

After only three weeks with Just IT they got me an interview for a four week work placement, which thanks to the weekly sessions I was very well prepared for. After the interview I was offered a spot on the placement, during which Just IT stayed in contact to make sure I was doing ok. In the third week of the placement I was offered the job and have gladly accepted! It’s been a very fast six weeks, but I am feeling confident moving forwards in my new career, all thanks to Just IT.

Just IT has been a great opportunity for me to work on my soft skills and overall has made me a very confident person. The course has helped me gain extra skills and knowledge that I did not possess before and the career support has been excellent. First of all, I would like to thank Just IT, all the staffs and the support I got from them. Without them, I might not achieve what I really wanted. As I am still learning C#.NET, I have been given guidance on how to tackle the programme. The career support was very helpful and is still very helpful. Since I’ve changed the format of my CV through Just IT, I have been receiving a lot of phone calls from recruitment agencies and sometimes directly from companies. 1 of my biggest weakness was my communication skill and during our training sessions, which was held every Tuesdays, every time I was told to slow down my speech and to listen to myself whenever I speak. Every time I attend an interview, I always keep these 2 things in mind: to slow down and to listen to myself. And now, this weakness of mine has helped me secure a job with Alterian Plc. Every session I attend always helped me in a way or another, whether it be telephone interview or face to face interview. Every advice we are given are worthwhile.

I just would like to thank Just IT for all the support they have given me, although my visa status was an issue.

Nicholas Donkor – Junior Development Consultant @ PNM Soft £22k- Jul 2010

The Development professional programme provided me with 3 important support pillars in getting me into a development position.

The first was a motivation boost. It is often difficult to stay focused on what you want over a period of time. Conflicting information from agencies who are trying to sell you positions that are loosely related to your key competencies coupled with rejections from the area you really want to work in can lead to wavering convictions. By having a place to go where you can collect your thoughts and refocus your efforts is invaluable. Just IT works to give you an environment where you can be comfortable to stay strong in your convictions while providing you with current and honest information about how those convictions will benefit or hinder your career progression.

The second involved reminders of best practices. Though I was not a recent graduate I was not aware of many of the best practices used to give one a competitive edge in the market.

Through bi- weekly sessions I was able to develop an in depth knowledge of what employees are looking for at interview and tips on how to make my individual qualities shine through.

Thirdly and probably the most important is what Just IT can do for your CV. As a Mechanical Engineering graduate my CV showed very little programming knowledge and was not tailored to the market I was entering. Through taking the course my CV was adapted to display passion for development along with an understanding of the current technologies in the market. The first thing an employer sees of you is your CV and Just IT worked with me to make sure that it made the right impression.

Nasir - Junior C# Developer role @ Ascom £25K – Feb 2010

After not being able to find a proper job for more than one year after graduation, I decided to take up the training course in IT Development with Just IT. I found that staff at Just IT is very helpful, especially Simon, Umar and Diane. They put all their efforts in helping you find a job. Not only they teach you the required technical skills but also the skills required in a complete job hunting process, from writing your CV to making you the best at interviews. Within a month I starting getting a lot of response, at one time I had 8 interviews in 12 days, and one of them turned into a 25k job!

This has helped me gain valuable experience in the development field that led me into a Job. Since beginning the course just a few weeks ago, Just-It have helped me improve the skills required to get an interview as well as the skills to get through an interview. I had little to no interest coming from applications I had made to jobs for nearly nine months before I started. They helped me improve my soft skills, communication and interview readiness. I went from quiet, nervous and unsure of what to say, to confident and relaxed during the interview which helped a lot. A week after I started the course at Just-It I had 3 interviews, 2 of which asked me to come back for a second and both proceeded to then offer me employment.

I was one of the first candidates to join the Just IT development programme. I have had tremendous Support from the Just IT team. Going from an unmotivated 1st class computer science graduate with no direction and a one year gap, to a confident person and getting a job. Coming from a Mathematics and Physics background, and with no experience in software development, I realised quickly that I will have to join a training program to stand out in this extremely competitive market. I joined the development program at Just IT with some reservations, and I can now say I am very happy that I made the decision to join.
