Apprenticeship Awards 2016

apprenticeship awards

We were delighted to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week by hosting our Awards event. With a great number of guests including employers, apprentices and parents, we were able to celebrate and recognise the success of our Apprentices and Apprentice Employers.

We hold the awards to show recognition towards all that have taken part in the programme. We have had really dedicated Apprentices who have completed the programme ahead of target and employers who have gone above and beyond to help them succeed.

The evening was full on enthusiasm, and we had some inspiring guest speakers who came to the stage to share their experiences and thoughts on the programme. Jos Creese, former president of BCS spoke about the importance of IT Apprenticeships and how they can help young adults into the industry. Former-Apprentice and now entrepreneur, Joshua Uwadiae gave a really energetic speech on how the programme helped his career by being promoted to IT Manager to then starting up his own company, along with Sue Husband from the Skills Funding Agency who spoke about the success an Apprenticeship can bring.

It was fantastic to see how far each individual has come since they have been part of the Apprenticeship Scheme. Finalists and Winners had short videos which shared their journey; they have turned from being shy school/college leavers to young highly employable adults.

The awards were a moment to feel proud of, and it could not make us more excited for 2017. There was a high amount of nominations this year, and following the success, we expect the awards to be even bigger and better next year.

This year there were winners in six categories:
