Our Client are a small independent software house based in Ilford Essex which writes applications software for banks all around the world. Their applications include core banking; Internet and mobile banking; and anti-money laundering solutions. Much of their programming is done in their offices in Vietnam although they still retain a customer facing support and technical presence both in London and in Gibraltar.

 

They are looking for a keen programmer to join their support and development teams in at their Ilford offices. The successful candidate will work with, and be mentored by, a Senior Systems Architect who is responsible for managing the team that he/she will join.

 

KEY DUTIES

  • To work as a programmer on new developments in accordance with detailed specifications.
  • To work as a programmer either making improvements to existing software or finding and resolving issues reported by customers.
  • To update relevant help text when functional changes have been made to programs and passing those changes onto the technical authors.
  • To act as first -line telephone support. This involves taking support calls from their customers and logging them in our JIRA database and returning the assigned reference number to the customer. The issue will then be referred to the team leader whose team are responsible for supporting that product or module.
  • Responding to (under direction) e-mails and telephone calls on support matters.

ABOUT YOU

To be an Software Development Technician Apprentice you will need to be a tech enthusiast with 5 GCSEs (A* – C) including Maths and English.

THE REWARDS

This 16-month Apprenticeship has a salary of £12,000 /£15,000 per year. You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills.
