IT Support & Operations Apprentice

They currently have an opportunity for an Apprentice within their IT Support & Operations business unit team based in London Bridge. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

The successful individual will be working towards a Level 3 Information Technology qualification from industry recognised organisations such as CompTIA, Microsoft, BCS and City & Guilds. This will be taught as a one day-release with Just IT Training and Apprenticeships for a duration of 2 years.

The apprentice will provide first and second-tier support to end users for either PC, server, or mainframe applications or hardware. Other responsibilities include: system administration, system support, IT equipment setup and run operations, systems modifications and simulating or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties.


  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders


To be an IT Support and Operations Apprentice you will need to be a tech enthusiast with 5 GCSEs (ideally A* – C) including Maths and English. An IT qualification is strongly preferred.

Successful candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Pre-Employment check and will be required to undergo various checks including: Identity, Right to Work; Employment/Education History and Criminal Record. This 2-year Apprenticeship has a salary of £18,000 / £20,000 per year. You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills.

Your training will include gaining internationally recognised Level 3 IT qualifications
