They are looking for a committed and professional individual to provide local, hands on IT support.
Acting as a single point of contact (SPOC).
Management and resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests reported to the IT service desk in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
Take ownership of incidents and communicate on progress.
To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles.
Escalate issues when required.
Assist with trend analysis.
Contribute to knowledge management.
Participation in audit activities related to the incident and problem management process.
Identify and report repeated issues.
ABOUT YOU –
To be an IT Service Desk Engineer Apprentice you will need to be a tech enthusiast with 5 GCSEs (A* – C) including Maths and English. A GCSE Information & Communication Technology (A-C grade required) or equivalent experience is preferred also.
This company are looking for someone with these skills and personal qualities.
Basic technical knowledge of PCs
Basic Knowledge of MS Outlook troubleshooting, Internet and Networking
Basic technical knowledge of Operating systems like Windows XP, Windows Vista.
Good verbal and written communication skills
An understanding of the following is required: Microsoft profiles types, Basic networking principles
Should have hands–on experience on CRM tools. (preferably Service Now)
Good documentation skills.
A general understanding of hardware and software PC
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in diagnosing general problems with computer hardware and software with ability to apply solutions to the problems.
Experience in dealing with anti-virus, anti-spam, wireless communication, mobile devices, and security in the information technology field.
Solid knowledge of data communication and networking internet protocols, such as TCP/IP, Ethernet and Serial interface standards, Change Management, and Active Directory.
Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
Ability to quickly and independently understand new technology, then provide support and consultation on usage of new technologies.
Strong customer service orientation.
A strong team player, works effectively under pressure, and ability to multi-task.
Works in close collaboration with laboratory tech and assisting with installation and maintenance of software.
Good documentation skills.
Exercise proper judgment taking care of client computers or sensitive data; and consult with supervisor.
Utilize effective time management skills and sets and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to lift 50 pounds (monitors, printers, scanners, etc.).

This 14-month Apprenticeship has a salary of £15000 per year. You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills.
Your training will include gaining internationally recognised Level 3 IT qualifications.
