Skills London is one of our favourite events of the year – with it being London’s biggest jobs and careers event at the ExCel Centre!
Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to those who came and visited our stand. We had a great time meeting with young adults and discussing their aspirations for when they finish education. To make the event interesting, we decided to mix retro gaming, new tech and fruit, by playing the classic video game Tetris with watermelons!

Aided by a circuit board that allows users to connect everyday objects to computer programmes, the connected watermelons were used as controllers to play the game.
Just IT drawing in a crowd
Visitors tested their skill and reaction times to best the game and one skilled participant managed to get an impressive high score of 19000 points!
Our aim at the event was to chat to as many young adults as possible who are looking for a career in the IT industry. We understand that university isn’t for everyone, which was why it was great to see how many people were interested in apprenticeships.
We also tested visitor’s knowledge on how well they knew tech and digital, with a chance to win an amazon voucher. The winner of this competition will be announced very soon.
