Another great year at Skills London – the UK’s biggest jobs and careers event hosted at the ExCel Centre.
The event was organised by London First and delivered with Prospects Events, giving young people an opportunity to discover different career paths available to them after leaving school.
It was great to meet so many young adults and discuss their future ambitions over the two-day event. A huge thank you to everyone who came by our stand and tried their luck at our game.
Back by popular demand, this year saw the return of our take on the classic video game Tetris. By creatively combining fruit and technology, our stand gave visitors the chance to try and beat the Tetris high score – using watermelons as controllers.
Aided by a circuit board that allows us to connect everyday objects to computer programmes, our stand was set up to show young people that technology can be applied in ways they might not have thought of.
Lots of you gave it your best with some great efforts, but the final high-score ended up at over 30,000!
We spoke to visitors about apprenticeship opportunities available in Tech and Digital, and how they can use these to start a long (and well-paid) career.
