Service Delivery Manager – Training (AEB)

Position Overview    

The Service Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Trainers and Training delivery within Just IT’s fast-growing Adult Education Budget (AEB) division, currently providing courses in Digital & IT Skills and Social Media.  Due to the recent procurement of additional AEB funding, Just IT now requires a highly skilled and quality focused individual to help further build on our strong reputation within this market.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Director, this role will form part of the Senior Leadership team within Just IT’s Training division.

Responsibilities  

In Common with All Other Staff:

  • To support the JIT’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives

  • To contribute to JIT’s commitment to continuous improvement as identified in JITs quality assurance systems
  • To be committed to JITs safeguarding procedures and high priority to be given to the safeguarding of learners
  • To work collaboratively with all members of the training division from candidate and employer engagement through to delivery staff to ensure the best possible learning experience for learners
  • Supporting the quality team to maintain a Grade 2 Ofsted or above

Managing People:

  • Implement and manage staff against standard operating procedures (sop) to ensure training teams perform as expected
  • Performance management of trainers in line with (sop), enabling you to support, and motivate them to succeed and appropriately dealing with under performance, reporting to Director team any major concerns in a timely manner
  • Completing 1-2-1 meetings with individual members of the team monthly and monitoring performance
  • Facilitate team meetings as required that drives the business strategy and operational plans
  • Support retention and career development of a high performing team committed to doing their best for learners through ongoing CPD, both technical and pedagogical / andragogical
  • Induct new members of the training team
  • Managing and liaising with external recruitment agencies partners to provide contractor support as and when required
  • Consciously create a culture that is consistent with the overall mission, vision and values of Just IT
  • Consciously create a culture that is consistent with Ofsted and internal quality requirements
  • Maintain trainers’ performance management against KPIs
  • Manage trainers using a performance management and development process that provides a framework to encourage all staff to contribute and includes target setting, feedback, and performance development planning
  • To ensure that information relevant to the work of the Training division is collected and collated and to provide statistical data as required. To ensure that relevant data and information is disseminated to staff in the Training division and the Director team in line with funding and contractual obligations
  • To achieve agreed targets and performance indicators across all areas of responsibility

Monitoring the Quality of Provision:

  • To work with the organisations quality team to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning
  • To encourage staff to be innovative in all aspects of teaching and learning
  • To ensure that the delivery of teaching and learning is of the highest standard and responsive to the needs of the learners
  • Managing and being accountable for, improvements in the quality of teaching and learning delivered by the Training division
  • Ensuring that the targets for the improvement in quality of teaching, learning and attainment for the Training division are achieved
  • Design, develop and implement (with the support of others) programme progress tracking and monitoring
  • Through progress tracking and monitoring identify learner/trainer action plans to ensure learner timely completion of programme
  • Ensuring Trainers are responsible for, and deliver registration, attendance, retention, and guided leaning hours in partnership with career support teams to ensure all bootcamp milestones are achieved
  • Provide critical and constructive feedback to staff in a professional manner that explicitly outlines current performance and remedies for improvement
  • Manage the trainer monitoring process which ensures trainer performance is reviewed and they deliver the level of training and engagement that can be measured in terms of candidate’s job readiness

Scheduling:

  • Working with Just IT’s scheduling team to ensure timely delivery of planned training cohorts in line with budget and contractual requirements
  • To help provide solutions at times of overcapacity

Personal Development:

  • To update professional knowledge and skills through a commitment to own learning and development
  • Keep abreast with changes to the FE landscape and Ofsted requirements
  • Actively involved with online communities/seminars in regard to LMS software to ensure JIT Group are at the forefront of developments in the education sector

Candidate Requirements  

  • Experience in managing delivery staff within a FE provider
  • An understanding of the co-ordination or management of curriculum delivery, including the effective development, deployment and leadership of staff
  • Experience of leading teams and/or managing staff
  • Experience of continuous professional development
  • Experience of involvement with a providers Ofsted inspection
  • Possession of a degree or appropriate professional qualification or working towards – desirable
  • Possession of a teaching qualification – desirable
  • Holds GCSE English and maths or equivalent
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills
  • An ability to develop positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • The ability to work flexibly and effectively through teams
  • The ability to motivate, encourage and manage the performance of others
  • The ability to analyse and solve problems
  • The ability to deal with difficult issues in a sensitive and confident way
  • The ability to organise workload in a methodical way
  • The ability to respond creatively to the specific needs of a diverse community
