Course Overview

HTML & CSS

We want to make sure that everyone starts the full-time developer course ready-to-go with a sound basic knowledge of essential technologies.

Our pre-study programme includes preliminary online learning models covering HTML5 and CSS, HTTP fundamentals, GitHub and introductory modules to back-end programming languages, such as C# and ASP.NET.

But don’t worry, even in these early stages our team is on hand to lend any assistance should you get stuck or have any questions.

HTML & CSS

These are the essential front-end technologies and we spend a week doing a website case study which introduces the principle ideas, including elements, attributes, validation, geolocation, canvas, local storage, animation, transformations, transitions and responsive design.

JAVASCRIPT

In week 2 we teach the core concepts of the popular front end programming language, Javascript. The course will teach all the key syntax and logic of this popular language from the ground up. There will be plenty of opportunity to apply your learning with some practical coding activities, and at the end of the week there will be a small test to make sure you are up to speed.

C#

Week 3 is C# week. C# is an object-orientated programming language created by Microsoft and one of the leading languages for business software development. In this week, we will introduce all the key concepts of this language through a combination of theory and practical coding activities. We also introduce database design and SQL in this week.

At the end of the week there will be a small assessment to reinforce your learning.

ASP.NET

By week 4, your skills and confidence should really be building as we introduce ASP.NET.

ASP.NET is used to create dynamic web pages which respond to user inputs. This can be done using ASP.NET Web Forms or the Model-View-Controller (MVC) design pattern. We will make sure you are comfortable with both and know everything you need to create database applications in ASP.NET MVC.

In combination with HTML and CSS, ASP.NET can be used to produce attractive, interactive web pages.

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

By week 5, you will have developed skills and experience in key programming languages. With the help of your instructors, it is now time to consider what you would like to specialise in.

During this week, you will build an online portfolio designed to reflect your chosen specialisation. You can then start to develop projects you would like to work on over the next two weeks of home study to put within this portfolio.

Also, during week 5, candidates have a career support day focusing on the key non-technical skills needed to get a great development job. This includes making a great first impression, CV writing, interview and presentation skills.

HOME STUDY

These two weeks are home study in order to complete your first two chosen projects. Our trainers will remain in contact to ensure that everything is progressing well and you do not hit any obstacles.

OPEN LAB REVIEW

Over this week, your portfolio and first two projects will be reviewed and finalised ready for presentation.

At this stage you should have a portfolio with two signed-off projects, and have passed technical training to the standards required. If your skills or portfolio still need a little more work, then we will create a bespoke development plan for you.

At the end of the week you have our second career day with the Career Support team. This is to help you get started with job searching and attending interviews. During the session you will present your portfolio and projects and learn how to talk about your technical and other skills at interview.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT

At this stage, you work on a third project to complete your online portfolio. You will have the support of the trainers all the way through this stage, via evening sessions and one-to-one contact.

At the end of this stage, we subject your work to an extremely stringent review to ensure that you are truly job ready.

JOB HUNTING & WORK PLACEMENT/PERMANENT JOB

You will now have an excellent portfolio and three impressive projects, so it’s time to start job hunting. Through evening sessions, mock interviews and soft skill training, we help you to secure interviews for development roles. Our career support consultants and recruitment team will help you at every step of the way.

If needed, we may arrange a development work placement with one of our employers to provide you with some real-world work experience for your CV.

Our team will keep in touch and continue to support you until you have a brand new job in development.

Our Job Guarantee

Secure an £18k-£28k job or your money back

So, How Does It Work?

The process is simple. Once you have successfully applied to one of our IT training courses you’ll receive your legally binding guarantee of a job or your money back, subject to you achieving your certifications.

Whilst these certifications are challenging for some candidates, we provide you with free re-training in all modules for 18 months after you start the course.

If you don’t achieve an IT job offer of £18-28k within 90 days of completing our programme (120 days if you undertake a work placement) we will pay you back £500 per month until your training fees are paid back. When you gain an IT job of between £18-28K the repayments will stop.

What’s The Average Starting Salary?

The average starting salary for the Development Programme is between £21k-£23k. The highest starting salary we’ve been offered to our graduates is £33k.

How Long Does It Take To Get A Job?

This depends on whether you do the intensive, evening or home based programme. As soon as you have passed the exams we will promote you into a work placement. If you are a strong candidate you would expect this to turn into a full time IT role.

On the intensive IT training course the vast majority of candidates get through the three exams in 9 weeks and many people gain employment in 13-15 weeks, but it can be quicker. You can be reassured that Just IT will work with you every step of the way, irrespective of how long it takes you to get a job in IT.

What Support Do I Get If I Want To Move Into A New Job?

We’ll stay in contact with you throughout your career, and when it comes to a point where you’re ready for your next challenge we’ll do our best to help you move up in your career – we are an award winning recruitment company, after all.

The cost of our programmes depend on which course and training options you to choose to pursue.

We try and cater for all different incomes and financial situations, and to find out exactly how much your qualifications will cost please just get in touch with one of our career consultants.

When it comes to choosing a funding option, our advice will always be to pay as much of the course fees as you can up front because it will ultimately cost less. However if your budget is challenged and you are a strong candidate then we don’t want your access to funds to stop you from progressing your IT career with Just IT.

If you don’t have access to funds then subject to interview, then we have several options where you pay a portion of the fees up front, and the remainder in monthly instalments once you’ve landed a job.

Typical instalments once you have an IT job are an affordable £300 per month. Remember, the average starting salary post-course ranges from £21-23k, with this increasing rapidly for most people.

2. Graduate Pay As You Earn

With the rising cost of a university education, some graduates find it difficult to finance the further training required to great a great job in IT. Our Graduate Pay As You Earn option offers a lower initial deposit than the standard Pay As You Earn.

This allows you to invest less upfront, and defer the majority of costs to once you have secured your £18k – £28k job in IT.
